Here we are in the Mission at the First Christian Church in New Orleans...our group consisted of men from our church in Princeton along with others from the Parkersburg church and also members from the Christian Church in Shelbyville,Tennessee

Here  is  pastor Washington listening as brother Vance tells us the story of how the storm devastated the church and of the rebuilding efforts by mission teams from churches all over the country.

This hand painted mural depicting the baptism of Christ in the baptistry of the little church was rescued from the demolition.

I couldnt resist shooting this beautiful sunset near the refinery

Work continues on the halfway house

Pastor Vance delivers the Ash Wednesday service

Smiles all around as the Parkersburg group pose for a picture!

While waiting for the next ferry ride......some of our group stretch their legs and talk with some of the local people........the gentleman in the middle with the suspenders thanked us for what we were doing in New Orleans...

Eric measuring for some framing in the new bathroom

Here Brother Vance Moore is showing us the completly remodeled church that has been the object of several mission teams work......the church is very small but will play a vital role in the lower ninth ward's community rebuilding efforts........Here lives will be restored and families made whole by the saving grace of our Lord and from the tender care provided by  pastor and his flock.

Brother Vance showing how high the water was in the church......which reached up to the bottom of the first floor

Our groups split up with some working on the halfway house beside the little church and the rest laying down new flooring and working on the pastors home.

Several of our group preparing breakfast.

Pastor Lyons hard at work helping with sheetrock work in the halfway house. He is working with another pastor from the Shelbyville church Bryan Elliot.

Our group that worked on Pastor Washington's house poses for a final shot after a week of blessings and hard work!

Pastor Washington and his lovely wife take time out to share a meal with all of us at the mission.

You dont have to look very far to find remanants of the hurricanes damage..........even 4 yrs later......this house was right across the street from where were working.

Everyone posing for a last group pic at the new house site
